Taiwanese Dumpling House -- Din Tai Fung in Shanghai














Yesterday, I took 2 of our Shanghai visitors to a dumpling house- Din Tai Fung in Shanghai. We did enjoy the dumpling in the restaurant and also meet the executive chef during the dining.

My favorite dishes are vegetable dumpling and beef noodle in the dumpling house. I have attached couple pictures of the dishes last night. The Shrimp and pork "shaomai"was really good and fresh. So that I would like to share it with you.














Din Tai Fon is a very famous restaurant in Taiwan. It has being ranked as top 10 restuarants in the world by New York Times. It has also been voted as the most favored dining place by political and commercial celebrities. It is one of the must-see places for national and international stars in Taiwan.

Their original restaurant(本店) set up in Taipei downtown. (also very popular...) They set up a lot of chain restaurant in the world right after they got the award. Probably, they have 22 chain restaurants(Taipei x 2, Japan x 12, China x 3, USA, HK, Seoul, ...)

One of Din Tai Fung restaurant locate in Shanghai Hongqiao and it is very closed to my apartment hotel. (3 mins by walking) So, Come to see me and I can bring you to the restaurant. The executive chef is my friend and they might serve us with their private dishes.

Actually, the executive chef meet us again and serve us free fruits. Yummy yummy!!
