Sumoto Castle in Awaji Island and Naruto whirlpools

I should keep on posting more article and send word to you from my last business trip to Awaji Island.

Like I said, Sumoto Awajishima is a small town and quite quiet place. You can relax yourself and enjoy do nothing in here. If you focus on the picture of ferry boat, you can find a castle locating on the top of the hill. I decided to visit the ancient castle so that I started to climb the Sumoto hill right after finishing a meeting in the evening.

The main tower of Sumoto Castle was re-constructed in 1928. With the remains of the original castle, the ancient stone walls have been designated as a cultural heritage in Hyogo.
The views from the top of the hill are stunning. You can look over Sumoto downtown and out over Osaka Bay.

残念ですね!I can't see the cherry blossom during this stay. It might fully blossom one week later.

Naruto whirlpools (鳴門の渦潮) is a famous spot which you should visit to.

If you
get a few time, please pay a visit to the Great Naruto Bridge. It was finished in 1995 with1629m long. The bridge connects Awaji island with Tokushima Shikoku, and the view from it provides the amazing sight of the changing whirlpools.

You can also take the sightseeing boat from Naruto to the bridge. It just take 30 minutes for a round whirlpools trip. It's a quite safe trip if you take the Naruto official sightseeing boat.

わんだーなると」is the huge boat in Naruto terminal and it has a seating capacity of 400.
Don't try to use the non-qualified boat. You will regret to take the shaking boat while went to the center of a whirlpool. At least, you have to buy an insurance before leap.
