悲しい事故です... 静岡で無人のヨット座礁

海難事故：海岸に無人ヨット座礁－－富士市　／静岡

ヨットの持ち主は御殿場市に住むXXX さんで、６日午前８時半に仲間とヨットに乗ると出かけたまま、連絡が取れなくなっています。 警察と海上保安部では、Xさんが海難事故に遭遇したとみて、ヘリコプターや巡視艇を出して行方を捜しています。

One of my sailing friend sent me the sad news about the accident yesterday. The yacht owner live in Gotenba city which is same as my friend's. My friends took his wife and his daughter to the marina for picking up some remaining stuff that was left behind in the cabin. It's a sad news for all of sailing peoples.

My friend's sailing team met him once at the marina (重須) on 2005 and Tamma-san took those pictures.

It's another accident which was caused by sailing alone. Many sailors enjoy the solitude afforded by taking a boat out single-handed and sailing alone. A clear horizon with steady winds is good for sailing. The water is certainly a calming and yet exciting experience for most of us.

However, when an accident occurs, a lone sailor has fewer resources available to them to survive a boating misfortune. Boaters would be well served by following the buddy system advocated by the Boy Scouts. Always take a buddy along for any outdoor activity. (Special thanks to our sailing crew. We have to follow the buddy system always.)

If you really wanna go sailing alone, at a minimum, a lone sailor should exercise extreme prudence in their seamanship and understand the risks of sailing alone.
